The GPAA Board has some wonderful updates and projects that we would like to share with you. We recently launched our website gammapialumni.org and would like to encourage all Brothers to join. We are slowly expanding and utilizing more of the options of the website as we post documents like the Alumni Arrow, membership renewal form, and other documents to the site. (The Gamma Pi family tree is also posted there.) We intend on utilizing the list serve capabilities of the website as more people join up.
We would like to let you know that we have just launched the “Brothers and Sisters of Purdue Bands & Orchestras Professional Network” for the members of Gamma Pi and Beta Sigma on LinkedIn. This LinkedIn group is to help connect current chapter members with alumni in their field of study or industry that they are pursuing. Our goal is to help connect actives and young alumni with other alumni who know of jobs, internships, can give career advice, and more. If you are on LinkedIn please come and join us.
This fall 2015 we will be having elections for 3 new board members. We would like to encourage any alumni Brother that is interested to send a petition in to David Robinson at [email protected] to run for the board. These are 6 year term board positions that have a lot of impact in running this organization.
GPAA would like to remind everyone that if you haven’t already paid dues for 2015 that you need not worry. It isn’t too late. You can download a membership renewal form from the file section of the website listed above after signing up. Don’t forget that you will need to pay dues prior to the fall board meeting if you would like
to be able to vote in this election. (If you will be graduating in May or August of 2015 you will receive your free complimentary one year membership into the GPAA and will be able to vote this fall.)
In regards to merchandise news, for the 2015 year, we are getting things setup to do a limited run Purdue Bands & Orchestra Christmas Ornament. Look for more details coming out later this year. If you have any questions, comments, or would like to help out please let us know. Thank you.
